It would be nice if more travel pants didn't look like you were going on safari. These are stylish and comfortable. They make that swishy sound that 100% synthetic pants do, but that goes with the territory. As always, Sierra shipped quickly.

These pants fit perfectly! No gap in the back waist band, then stretch and bend with you but they hold their neat shape. I'm planning to order more in case this style ever becomes obsolete! They can be worn for semi-casual events as well as for play.

I am on my second pair of these. I ordered a 12 first, thinking the adjustable waistband would adjust larger. It doesn't. It adjusts smaller. They were tight, and the pockets stood out on the sides, so I ordered a size 14, and they had to be adjusted down. They are still too large, and the twelves were too tight. Otherwise, they are comfortable and hit at the actual waist, which helps my long waisted body to be covered. They do wick moisture, which is great in this monsoon season in the desert. Wrinkles come out quickly, too. There are three buttons at the waist!! Two vertical buttons on the outside, and a tab with an inner button. I don't button that one. I would prefer one outer snap, actually.

I like everything about these pants.Material is thicker than "slippery" nylon pants. The waist is adjustable with buttons. The secret side pocket is big enough for a passport. The length (short) is perfect.Great pants!

These pants are very comfortable. They are not restricting which makes them great pants for active travel. They come up to the bottom of my waist and give you lots of room to sit, squat, stretch, you get the picture. The sizing varies a little with each color but you can stay with the same size as long as you are not squeezing into them. My green pair fits the best at a size 6. The light tan is a little less so but not enough to make me change size, and the black which I picked up somewhere else runs one size large. That drives me crazy! The pockets are OK. The right hip pocket has a zippered smaller pocket within but the big knock against these is that you don't have a cargo pocket. In a way I can understand it because the material is very thin. I wore these on a hot, humid day and didn't feel like I was going to die. So they will be good for hot weather when you need to cover up to keep the sun off of you and the mosquitoes too or not have brush rub up against your skin. This is a straight leg so if they are too long (I wear the short) they will look sloppy. Best to make sure they don't come close to the ground when you have your shoes on to prevent that. As I said these pants were made for movement, the athletic look and not to be the height of fashion.

About Royal Robbins

By the late-1960s, veteran Yosemite rock climber Royal Robbins and his wife Liz had grown tired of wearing cutoff jeans on the crag. At the time, apparel designed specifically for outdoor adventure was virtually non-existent. After years of wishing for something better, the couple finally decided to create their own, starting with a pair of climbing shorts called the “Billy Goat.” This was the beginning of Royal Robbins’ clothing revolution. Today, nearly 50 years later, Royal Robbins outdoor clothing is as rugged and reliable as ever. When you buy a Royal Robbins sweater or shirt, or a Royal Robbins pair of pants or shorts, you can bet it will fit great, whether you’re climbing in the Sierra Nevadas, camping in the backcountry or relaxing in your own backyard.
