I wear either an 8 or a 10. Ordered these in the 10 and they fit perfectly. The pockets are great for travel--two regular side pockets, 1 snap pocket in front, 1 zip pocket in front, and a zip pocket in back. I'm 5'6" and the pants hit me mid-knee as shown in the model.

I have several Royal Robbins pants and shorts, all in size 8. The size 8 I received was very tight, so I re-ordered in 10, as the color and fabric are really cute. The waist sits low, but these are tight and create "muffin top" which I don't have.
Just not the right cut for me. Will return both.

    • Cons: Cut
    • Pros: Fabric

I like these knickers, and from the fabric's texture and my brief experience with them so far, it seems that they'll be durable and resist soiling. But I had to go up a full size (from a 4 to a 6) to get the waist to fit, and even then it's still a little binding. The 8 was much too full in the hips. Maybe these will be a better fit if I lose a little weight - or for women who have smaller waists. I have small hips and thighs, but I like a looser waist.
    • Best Uses: Around town, Camping, Hiking
    • Cons: Waist tight
    • Pros: Dries quickly, Long Length, Resists dirt and stains

The left interior button to adjust the waistband dug into my abdomen creating a blister. I cut it off and all is well.
    • Best Uses: CASUAL WEAR
    • Pros: Comfortable, Good styling detail

These pants are great. I ordered my normal size and they fit good. They stretch enough to move with your body but they don't stretch out. They alsodry quickly.
    • Best Uses: Hiking
    • Pros: adjustable waistband, Comfortable, Dry fast, Stretch, True to size, Zipper pockets

About Royal Robbins

By the late-1960s, veteran Yosemite rock climber Royal Robbins and his wife Liz had grown tired of wearing cutoff jeans on the crag. At the time, apparel designed specifically for outdoor adventure was virtually non-existent. After years of wishing for something better, the couple finally decided to create their own, starting with a pair of climbing shorts called the “Billy Goat.” This was the beginning of Royal Robbins’ clothing revolution. Today, nearly 50 years later, Royal Robbins outdoor clothing is as rugged and reliable as ever. When you buy a Royal Robbins sweater or shirt, or a Royal Robbins pair of pants or shorts, you can bet it will fit great, whether you’re climbing in the Sierra Nevadas, camping in the backcountry or relaxing in your own backyard.
