I don't need high tech ski gear, or other outdoor wear. I wanted them to be inexpensive. I am not sure how well these will function as I have not had the opportunity to wear them in the rain yet. They don't seem waterproof. They are only nylon. They are lightweight, but if water seeps through, I will be unhappy.

The waist was perfect but they were tight in the hips and thigh, so it was impossible for me to layer for the colder weather. If I order the next size, the waist will be miles too big. I bought these pants for hiking and walking in the rain. The best features are the zip sides, for easy on-off access with hiking boots. They are also very lightweight.

With the ankle elastic the pant fit like a balloon. Plenty of room needless to say so I exchanged for the small. The same effect with the ankle elastic and less room in the waist. Big differance between sizes. I liked the option of on/off quickness with the zippered/velcro sides but they would be much better if the design were straight legged. Overall concept is great but product was far below expectations.
