good gore-tex pricing for this jacket By High Ridge Hunter from Colorado on 10/29/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features, Poor Ventilation Best Uses: Backcountry, Hiking Describe Yourself: Collegiate/Pro Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: the jacket works for its price, but a 2xl should be made to fit a 6'2 person on length for more back coverage. This product will keep you dry, but it does not breath at all. so were a synthetic shirt under to make this product comfortable. The camo works great, had 6 deer right by me and not even notice me.
By The GearDaddy from Somewhere out back.... on 10/04/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Received this just in time for a week-long archery Elk hunt, and its first assignment was keeping me dry in a heavy drizzle that was turning to snow... while packing a 60-lb., 2-man camp off of the hill following a bear-related tent-flattening incident.
Arms got hit with a LOT of precip for the better part of 2 hours; the rest of me was shielded by the big, external-frame pack and working hard, and I was as dry as could be hoped for and just about the right temp all over.
Sizing is just about as good as it gets, too; it's a trim fit, well-suited for bowhunting, yet has enough room for a lightweight down layer underneath. In a small, it packs down to about the size of a 12-oz. can, in the stuff sack provided.
The biggest knock on this one is that the pockets are not at all situated in a pack-friendly manner; once the waist belt goes on, whatever is in the pockets will have to stay there 'til you drop the pack, so that was not at all handy for release, calls, etc.
