By Johnny law from new mexico on 10/27/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This are advertised as a fishing pant but are the best pants for traditional rock climbing and likely caving out there. They are simply the best that I have ever come across in 15 years of searching. Great for chimney, offwidth and any rock climbing that requires your legs to contact the rock. They are absolutely perfect and tough as nails. I'm buying a second pair today.
rare: softshell zip-off pants By outdoor geek from CA on 09/16/2009 Pros: Durable, Stretchy, Water-resistant Best Uses: Backpacking, Cool weather, Fly Fishing, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Although I do like to go alpine flyfishing, I am most excited about these pants for general mountain travel/backpacking. I like them so much, I bought a 2nd pair of another color. They have a wide comfort range, but are best in cool/cold weather. Since they are wind resistant, they don't breath quite as well as most thinner hiking pants. They have that great combo of stretch, abrasion/wind/water resisance, plus Cloudveil quality.
By Brian the Hiker from Fort Collins, CO on 08/11/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these for backpacking and love them. Perfect weight for high country hiking. Versitile with the zipoff legs. Durable fabric that is very water resisitant. Worth buying.
