By fishwoman from Ironwood, MI on 10/19/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Lots of Storage, Waterproof Pockets Best Uses: Casual Wear, Freshwater Fishing Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love the fact that this jacket is shorter than normal rain jackets. It makes moving in the outdoors easier and the bottom doesn't get wet when you are wading in deeper rivers. Doesn't build up with persperation dampness inside, but the neoprene wristbands can (only downfall I found).
High Quality, Great Looking By Tampaflygal from Tampa, FL on 10/12/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Lots of Storage, Waterproof Pockets Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is the typical high quality I expect from Patagonia fishing products. I was looking for a lighter wading jacket than the one I had, which is quite bulky to pack in a suitcase. This jacket fits the bill perfectly. It is very lightweight and packs down beautifully, a tremendous advantage for airline travel. I also like the fleece-lined collar, since I most often wear wading jackets when I'm fishing in colder climates than my home waters in Florida.
It does NOT have hand pockets, which is a deficiency. But it does have two large chest pockets for gear. No hood, either, but then this is a lighter weight jacket so there have to be trade-offs.
I have a Patagonia Rainshadow jacket that has lasted me for years of regular use, so I fully expect this wading jacket to be just as durable. I would not have paid the retail price for this, but the STP price was a total steal.
By fishergirl from Bangor, PA on 10/07/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a classic wading jacket with a reputation for being one of the best around. I was a bit disappointed that the jacket is not sized properly for wearing over bulky waders. One shouldn't have to buy a wading jacket a size up, as the shoulders and sleeves still need to fit properly. This jacket should have been designed to fit over waders, not under them.
The fabric is of excellent quality and is good at stopping wind. Cuffs seal out water and hood stores nicely in the collar.
