By GNAT from California on 09/15/2009 Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these as a substitute for shorts that were no longer available - and they are great. The shorts I originally wanted were longer in the leg, but the fit on these is so good that I don't really care that the leg is a little shorter than I originally wanted!
By Mrs. Rafiki from OH on 08/15/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching Best Uses: biking, Casual Wear, Rock climbing, Running/Hiking Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shorts fit well, look good and are sturdily built and comfortable, like most Arcteryx products. I ordered my usual size and found them true. Waistband sits just above the hips (1-2" below bellybutton), and stays there without riding up. Slash pockets are roomy and interestingly designed. Inseam is a good length: short enough to be flattering, but long enough to prevent unintentional display of undergarments. They don't gap hugely around the leg, which makes them ideal for any activity in which you might be viewed from below (e.g. rock or mountain climbing). I've worn them for around-town bike commuting as well as casually, and because they gap less around the leg i have less unimpeded movement during pedaling, but it's not uncomfortable enough to be annoying and I expect this to be less of an issue as they break in. Color (what STP calls Dark Brown) has a hint of burgundy--a nice change from your run-of-the-mill neutrally colored multi-use shorts. Made for the active outdoorswoman who likes to look good while she beats up her gear.
