I would give it to them. I brought this jacket hoping it would be a little longer than my other suit jackets for the longer shirts that are currently in style. I did size down but don't feel that is necessary unless you are particularly slender. It was futile for me to buy the next size up because it was so darn long. This jacket is the wrong proportion for me. The 30" long suit jacket looked like I was playing dress up in Mommy's closet. I am only 5'1" so that is a hazard. I am sad I have to send this one back. am sadder still that the grey Hawksley & Wight suit jacket is the same length so I shouldn't get that one either. I am however, very, impressed with the quality of workmanship, fabric and construction. I am a new fan of Hawksley & Wight for more formal yet washable. business attire. I will be looking for pieces in this brand that are shorter to better fit my short frame. When this brand fits I feel like a million bucks.

I didn't consider ordering the next size smaller because the sleeves already seemed a little bit short. Nice quality, just not for me. I would recommend this to a friend with shorter arms.
