Works but takes some effort By Brdman from MASS on 08/31/2009 Pros: Good value for the deal Cons: Holes needed redrilling, Not perfectly engineered Best Uses: Hunting, Target Practice Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Got this to prepare for a bird hunting trip and it works fine. Did have to redrill two holes that were just off enough so it would not go together. Easy to load and release. Light enough to load in the truck and move around at the range but stays put pretty well with the stakes provided. With all the Sierra deals it is a great deal for the money.
By Middleagedscout from Madison, Wisconsin on 06/25/2009 Pros: Discounted price a deal, Functions fine Best Uses: Hunting, Target Practice Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Needs more weight to hold down during loading. 3/4s is easier than full model. However, first time you load it that IS a full turn. Ratcheting system does prevent arm from kicking back during loading --so that helps. Video on loading makes it look much easier than it actually is, but it's easy enough. The "full" model is NOT easy except for those with very much upper body strength or good weight behind them. I'm not weak in upper body and returned full model for this one. Will keep this one. Need tools to adjust direction of throws. Can be set up to throw alone with a cord. Definitely need more stakes or weight to keep it in the ground when loading. All in all a good option at a good (discounted) price to get out there and learn to hit targets before bird hunting and for just plain fun.
