It is best to let it sit for a day with the valve open to let it fully inflate. This is not a backpacking pad because it is heavy and a little bulky. but perfect for the weekend or short car trips. Really I slept better on this than on my memory foam mattress at home.
By Jeanne the Vacationer from New York on 08/18/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Inflate, Non Slip Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We used these for 5 nights camping in Yellowstone. They were more comfortable than the air mattresses we used to use...and they didn't deflate halfway through the night. They also insulated well against the cold ground and actually did self-inflate most of the way. It did take a while to deflate them, but I think this was a great product.
By Ol' Timer from Idaho on 08/18/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Even with breath assist the pad doesn't get to 2 in. thickness and isn't very supportive or "cushy."
