By Plam from Portland, OR on 11/13/2009 Pros: Consistent Performance Describe Yourself: Enthusiast Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We have a rental that doesn't have individualized heat control in each unit, so this has helped me see of the apartment reaches the temperature that the furnace room thermostat says it is. I rate this as a 4 star because the instruction booklet is a little difficult to follow and when mine stopped reporting the outside temperature is was a low battery in the sensor, even though the sensor was showing a read out. It can be a little tricky.
Once you set it up, it is a no-brainer By Maestro from San Francisco, CA on 11/11/2009 Pros: Consistent Performance Cons: Not easy to configure Describe Yourself: Enthusiast Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: once you get it configured, it is a no brainer. But the configuring is not intuitive. (you must connect the battery to the transmitter withing 2 minutes of adding batteries to the receiver, for them to connect)
We use it to know the temperature of our childs' room, so it is not used outside.
By FunctionOverForm from Washington, DC on 11/08/2009 Pros: Consistent Performance, Durable, Easy To Configure, Easy To Use Describe Yourself: Enthusiast Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This model seems to use the updated La Crosse transmitter (the 915Mhz). Unwrapped it, added two AA, the outdoor piece included a watch battery, and it worked in seconds. I use it every day. This purchase was a second one for my Dad who also uses it every day. We are in different parts of the eastern seaboard and compare outdoor temperatures over the phone.
