work shoe? walking shoe? Both. By Zhara from Gleann Abhann on 11/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Looks Great, Office-appropriate, Stable, well cushioned Best Uses: Business Casual, Casual Wear, Travel, Urban Walking Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Several manufacturers have mary janes with sporty styling and athletic-shoe construction, but Columbia has nearly perfected it. very lightweight, the Damselfly is springy, balanced, and stable, with a comfortably wide fit and a contoured cushion-y insole. the strap is at a fashionable angle across the foot, yet actually rests comfortably on the instep and holds the shoe on perfectly well. The scoop-out on top is just a tad bit revealing, tho, and that's my only (mild) complaint. I prefer for my shoes to cover my toes, and the hints of toe-cleavage that peak out are not quite what I wanted.
Finally, these are one pair of sporty shoes that I did not have to treat with black markers to cover up all the flash, logos and advertising that normally comes with athletic type shoes. Thank you Columbia for making something I can wear to the office in great comfort. Overall, very good buy.
By Be kind to your feet from Wilmington DE on 11/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Stable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are the first shoes I ordered on the Internet. I was skeptical about not trying them on first, but the $[$] price was too compelling ($[$]-$[$] other places). Sure enough, they were too big. Exchange was easy, and I now have a great pair of shoes at a great price. [...]
By grand canyon hiker from las cruces nm on 11/10/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love Keens but these were cute so I gave them a try and even though I have a narrow foot they fit well, but I am a 7-7.5 and the 6.5 fit. I love that insole as I wear them without socks. It does what it says. No odor. I got 2 pair. Love 'em. (the reivews on size were very helpful)
