By none from NM on 11/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great boot. Too narrow as I wear a wider shoe. Will keep it and see how it goes...everything else about them are awesome. Very sturdy and they have a "clean" look.
By mthiker from Montana on 11/07/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I need room in the boot for some arthritic toe joints. These wide boots fit the bill. I did add a gel arch and wear a liner with my boot socks - then it is a great fit. I like stiff boots for the type of hiking I do. I have tried dozens of boots, most of which would not even accomadate my enlarged toe joints, others just had grommet over the joints or just not enough toe box. I got a second pair of these boots since I could get them to fit so nicely. (Note - I couldn't even wear the regular width barefooted, I have a normal width foot).
By Mom who loves the great outdoors from Salt Lake City, UT on 11/05/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: So my all leather Raichle boots finally bit the dust on my last back packing trip. I have had them for 12 years on lots of hiking and backpacking trips. But it took 3 years(ouch) to break them in. The montrail boots fit like my Raichles after 12 years. But I did go with a wide width. I do not have wide feet but the montrails fit narrow to me. I also go with a half size bigger in hiking boots becuase I find that on backpacking trips if I wear a thin sock and a thicker sock I don't get blisters. Seem like a well built boot. After I put them to the test, I will let you know.
