The "X" top has been sewn so flatly that there is NO ROOM for your foot to fit under. They are sewn almost flat to the sole and don't stretch. I ordered size medium (8-9), my true size is 7C, normal arch height. I can barely shove my foot in hard enough to get in position, then as you walk the slipper works its way forward and squeezes your foot out the back. Unfortunately, I tried wearing them for several days to see if they wouldn't loosen up as otherwise liked them, but after a week, its a no go. Probably can't return mine, but am returning a second pair purchased as a gift.
