The flame control doesn't work well at very low (simmer) levels. All in all, I'm well satisfied with this product versus the price I paid here at Sierra Trading Post.
By Camping in Utah from Austin,Tx on 10/18/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: It works really well but the metal edges are extremely sharp. It nearly cut my thumb off. It sliced thru my thumbnail all the way to the bone.
By Camping Mom from Southeast USA on 10/15/2009 Pros: Compact, Easy To Clean, Easy to Light, Lightweight, Powerful, Stable Cons: Poor temperature control Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this to use when car camping with the kids. It is small compared to the other stoves I saw at local stores. It is easy to light, clean, and cooled off fast. It was harder to simmer foods but very quick to reach boiling temperature. This is great for car camping not hiking! I have a small whisper for that. I just used regular Colman fuel canister with no problem.
