I wanted a multi-purpose lightweight jacket for everything from hiking to running around town. Nice trim "urban" fit.
I originally wanted a fleece, but went to a soft shell because I have two shedding dogs. But the cozyness is still there.
I am tall, and generally have difficulty with sleeve length. The sleeves are just right. I'm about 10 lbs over my ideal weight at the moment, but the jacket just fits at the hips. And I can cinch it if I get back to my regular size.

It is very warm and lightweight, perfect for cool weather activities like curling and skating!
By Alytes from Central Valley, Ca on 10/26/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a big girl - size 18, and Columbia XLs fit me. Not all XLs do, so I love Columbia:) I will use this jacket as a replacement for a similar type I bought about 4 years ago (REI brand). It looks nice enough to wear on most days, even to work. Its wind resistance has already been proven during our first storm of the season, the sleeves are a perfect length and will not ride up with your movements, and it has a feminine fit (which is snug on me, but like I said - I am a bit bigger than your average XL). The price was SPECTACULAR [...] A+ for both Columbia and as always Sierra Trading Post!
