By zenith from Boston,Ma on 11/13/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: it is easily worn. you can never use this shoe hang your heel due to poor design.
However, for the price, i would not return it.
Beginner can use this shoe to upgrade your level, you can get a better one when this is worn.
By loves to climb! from southeast, MO on 10/24/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was so excited to get these shoes in, and wow, holy cow- they're incredibly painful. I know a climbing shoe should be quite snug, but sheesh, these are ridiculous. They look good, but they're so painful! I think the Montrail climbing shoes run a full size too small, I wear a 9 wms. and wanted a snugger fit so I got the 39.5 and it feels like I've crammed my foot into a wms 7! Not sure what I'll do. Probably buy different ones and sell these on[@]. :(
comfy, but rubber falls apart fast By lixy from san francisco on 09/28/2008 Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Long Climbs, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These are comfortable shoes, ggod for people with longer 2nd toes. They run small. I intentionally got mine looser than normal, for whole-day not-too-technical climbs, but even so: I wear a 38 or women’s 7.5 and I got these in 39.5 which is perfect for a comfortable fit; for more technical climbing I could go to 39, so still a size bigger than I’d normally wear (I tried both mens and womens, they all run small) They didn’t have the womens in my size, so I got the mens, which means that the heel digs into my achilles a bit). However, the biggest drawback is that after wearing only 5-6 times the rubber is already wearing off, and the rubber on the side is delaminating. I don't mind so much--for this price I’ll just resole them with the much stickier and better IMHO 5.10 rubber and/or just use them for crack climbing where a loose fit is ok!
