By K9 and Kids Mom from Alabama on 11/08/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant, Well made Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Night walking, On a running track, Walking the dog, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are great shoes. I have owned mostly Merrels and Solomons over the years and this is my first pair of Vasque's. I will definitely keep them on my list of comfortable shoe brands. I usually wear an 8.5 to 9 and the 9 fit fine. The shoes are roomy in the toe area and fit great. They were a little stiff on the top when I first put them on, but after wearing them around for a couple of minutes it disappeared. This continued as I wore them around the house on and off for 2 days. I then wore them out to meet the girls at the running track and walked 3 miles pushing a double stroller with no issues or stiffness concerns. I think they just need a little breaking in period. With my Solomons and Merrels they were definitely more supple on the top of the shoe and lacing area from the beginning and needed no break in period. However, they were a different shoe material( softer suede-like/mesh) and not waterproof/goretex/smooth leather like these. The traction is great and I feel my feet/ankles will be well cushioned and supported when I do take them on the trails to run. Laces have been great too and no issues with coming untied. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because for 5 stars the shoe should feel like it was molded perfectly for my foot and need no breaking in.
Solid all terrain running shoe By Spok9 from Spokane, WA on 10/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like this shoe. Most of the comments were from hikers, but I run daily, often on varied trails. I prefer a touch more flexibility, but overall, I am very satisfied with this shoe, and am happy that I can run in wet weather now.
Great trail & rainy weather shoe!!! By On the trails with my dog =] from Upstate NY on 09/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Compatible with orthotics, great arch support, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Everyday, Trail running hiking, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a 1-yr-old Jack Russell Terrier who needs a LOT of exercise. This shoe has been great for walking or running with him on trails. I've worn it in the pouring rain & my feet have stayed dry as a bone. I have pronated arches, and this shoe provides excellent arch support as well as ankle support & stability. A Jack Russell in the woods is wont to charge towards little critters, this shoe helps me hold onto the leash without twisting an ankle!!
