By Nick from Craftsbury Common, VT on 08/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, cold weather work Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice boots. Haven't used them in the winter yet but I don't anticipate ever having cold feet with these on. They're definitely bulky and heavy, but that's the trade-off you make for boots that can handle extreme cold. My only gripe is that I wish they had lacing all the way up. I can tighten up the bottom and top, but the middle of the ankle remains loose and bulky without any sort of lacing. Overall, these are a good alternative to Sorel boots for extreme winter cold.
best boots for cold weather By mumseyllama from Underhill VT on 08/22/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: After Skiing/Snowboarding, Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love these boots. Bought them last year for my daughter who was working at a ski resort in Vermont as a lift attendant.Kept her impeccably warm. I borrowed them to walk the dogs--never had cold feet. Just bought these for myself so she didn't need to share. You do have to order a size larger than usual.
By Jenny from Greensboro, NC/Elk Lake, Ontario on 04/29/2009 Pros: Easy Entry & Exit, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Snow, snowmobiling Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I couldn't find a woman's boot that was rated as warm as these. I wear a size 7 1/2 - 8 women's, and these boots work perfect for me in a size 7 men's. The inner liner velcros around your leg, so you can tighten it up for warmth. When you step into the boot, you feel it conform to your foot. They're not as heavy as I expected from reading the other reviews, but I don't plan to do any hiking, just mostly snowmobiling.
