Ruff Wear K-9 Float Coat - Pet PFD

I have an old yellow lab and he has very bad arthritis and can not be on meds for it, so last summer we noticed he was having a hard time swimming even though he would stay in the water for hours as all labs do. Figured it would help him for next year. According to the size chart he measured an extra large but when it came in I thought that it was a little too big and it would float up in the water around his neck so exchanged it for a size smaller. It is good quality and the price was $20-30 cheaper than other web sites for the exact product. Was very happy with it. Can't wait to try it out this summer.

Our current dog, a 6-year-old labradoodle, is an active swimmer and water-toy retriever, to the point of sometimes overdoing it. After learning that even Portuguese water dogs (like Obama's family owns) are required to have flotation vests when they take part in swimming trials, we decided that a vest like this one would be wise for our dog, as well. It fits well, though a bit stiffly, so we're hoping it will soften up with more use...

I just feel better knowing that my nearly 10 year old Lab can swim to her hearts content and not get tired with this life vest. She can stop swimming and just float. Just wait til you see the pictures of that! My peace of mind was worth any price. Thanks

We just got our Float Coat. He won't be using it until this summer so I'll do a review after that too. He measured for a Medium but I had to exchange for the Large for the best fit.

I've had these K-9 jackets before...Depending on how rough on it your dog is-the time it will last varies....
