When I first opened this, there was a plastic odor that was unappealing. With one wash, the odor was gone and the throw held up nicely.

We bought several of these and gave them as gifts. Everyone loved them. Very classy.

Fantastic for informal dining and all cooking. I love pepper and hate tediously twisting or squeezing the grips on most smaller grinders. This Big Guy does the job in one rotation of the metal "L", and you will only fill it a couple of times a year. This is not a grinder for the weak and timid. Comes with 2 separate identifier rings, white and black, for your choice of salt or pepper. I don't use much salt and will use my second grinder for dried rosemary or basil picked from my garden (drying in the garage right now).

I bought this for a young woman as a thrown in her bare-bones apartment. Very stylish design, and it will stand up to washing in a "shared" commercial washing machine. The material is heavy and warm, but not really soft and cuddly. It almost looks like burlap (but not that coarse!). I think it will probably soften up with repeated washing, and is certainly perfect for the intended use.

Wonderful gift for active people

I guess I just didn't get the right idea from the picture. It's not a cream background, but tan. And the pattern on it is a forest green, not black. A loose weave, reminding me of burlap, but smoother and softer to the touch. Double sided pattern as described. There's nowhere I can really use this in my apartment right now, so I will just save it—it was so cheap I don't want to bother returning it.

These mitts are nice, but they don't protect you from heat transfer. After burning my hands twice while baking cookies, I threw them away.
