4.0 out of 5 stars. Looks Promising!Verified Buyer Reviewed by J in Portlandia from Oregonian on Friday, December 11, 2015As mentioned in other reviews, this shoe offers a truly narrow fit, which works well for me throughout the shoe bed as I have always preferred narrow shoes. Otherwise, they are true to size. I notice some potential for rubbing around the ankles; however, after wearing them for short periods around the house and also on a 1-mile inclined trail walk I haven't experienced any raw skin. The build appears sturdy with good traction. As long as the upper shoe doesn't cause blisters I foresee keeping these boots around for several years.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Love these boots - definitely waterproof!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Chippewa Lake Girl from Michigan on Monday, June 1, 2015I have already used here boots for several weir crossings that have become flooded by a beaver. They kept my feet dry even with water reaching all the way to the second lace rung from the top.
They are surprisingly lightweight. They are also very comfortable - I am now partial to this brand after reading their reviews in Backpacker magazine. I believe a lot of the comfort comes from where the laces start at the toes. It really allows you to cinch the boots around your foot. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. I wanted to love themVerified Buyer Reviewed by court in the canoe from the Ozarks on Saturday, March 21, 2015I wanted to love these boots. I'm looking for a pair of hiking boots for Machu Picchu and these were not them. My feet felt like they were encased in cement. I walked around the house for a few days in them and developed a hot spot on my outer left foot. Not for me. I wear a 9 and these felt true to size, maybe a little narrow but overall good fit.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Too NarrowReviewed by Anonymous from PA on Thursday, March 19, 2015I just received these in the mail and was excited to try Salewa for local hiking and backpacking in the Laurel Highlands, AT & whatever else shows up. Typically, I've sported Salomon, Merrill and Asolo's in the past and don't have any complaints, loved them all. My shoe size varies; running shoes - 9, casual footwear - 8.5 and summer shoes and sandals - 8. I ordered a 9 in these and wore them around the house for the better part of the day, they just didn't cut it. Great snug fit in the heel (my heel is more narrow than the rest of my foot it seems) but they rubbed both feet at the big toe joint (where a bunion would be). By looking at the treads you can tell how narrow they really do run. Not for a MED. sz foot.
