I ordered two pairs, a half size and a size bigger since the recommendation was to order a half size up. Both were too loose in the heel. My half size up was too tight in the toebox so going down a size was no good. So, I found this a difficult shoe to get a good fit. Otherwise, good upper materials and rugged sole.

Used for work, and pleasure. They seem true to lenght and width. I wish they were available in a narrow width. I have a very narrrow foot and I have found no hiking boot that is the right width for me. These will be great in winter with a heavier sock on.
    • Best Uses: Work
    • Pros: Very Comfortable

Great looking boot and appears to be very well constructed. Heal support and cushion good, wish had a little more at ball of feet. Felt very comfortable, lite, and a little rocker to them to put spring in step. However, after wearing for a couple hours I had a sore spot in front from laces wear my ankle angles and turn into my foot. Seems the boot structure and lacing could have been modified to miss the spot right where your tendons and muscle flex, extra tongue padding starts just above that spot.

I am trying modifying by forgoing cross lacing and lacing the last two eyelets together, then extra lacing to wrap around boot ankle and tie off. A little ankle sore spot there since tying tight, but think in long run may be more comfortable and provide better ankle support.

PS: I bot 1/2 size up and seem good fitting with medium thickness merino hiking sock, would rather add another insole if loosen up later. Think smaller would have been too tight.

About Salomon

The legendary Salomon outdoor equipment company was founded more than 60 years ago in the French Alps by Francois Salomon. After developing the world’s first self-releasing ski binging in 1966, the company continued to grow and innovate new products. By the early 1990s, the brand had taken the wintersports market by storm with Salomon skis made using cap construction, a totally new innovation at the time. Salmon boots quickly became famous for their balance of performance and comfort on the slopes. By the turn of the century, Salomon snowboards were helping athletes push themselves in the park and powder. Today, Salomon continues to be an industry leader, with products that range from skis and snowboards to hiking boots and trail running shoes.
