I bought these for snowshoeing after reading they were recommended in an article on the sport. They are comfortable, warm and close easily. They seem to run a little large. My normal size felt a little loose. [...] Great boot!!!

I am Russian and I do live in Siberia. Those boots are very warm even for temperature of -38C,and they are very light.I did wear at autumn when the snow is wet but they kept my feet dry. Very satisfied with product.

These boots are easy to put on and very comfortable. I bought them to snowshoe in, and they work great for that purpose. I've also used them for horseback riding although I didn't buy them with that in mind. My feet stay dry and no hot spots. Only con is that I don't think they are the most attractive boot for just wearing around town, but they function so well that I don't care.

It has been in the minus zero area lately and when I wear these boots my toes are never cold not even slightly. They are lightweight and look great on and I hope they last until I'm 90. Thank you so much for my first ever warm winter feet!

I LOVE these boots. They are toasty-warm without being sweat-inducing. They breathe, but keep in the heat. The toe box is full and open, and the heel area conforms to you without causing blisters. They are stiff enough that your foot practically slips in and out like teflon, but when you are in them, they are supple and flexible. Almost like a nice pair of muckluks.
**BUT**...Salomon's famous quick-lacing system does NOT work on these boots. The laces are too thick, and the lock mechanism is WAY too big to be effective. The laces slide thru it with just a normal amount of walking. In addition, Salomon(what were they thinking?!) placed the opening of the elastic tuck-pocket (where you store the lock mechanism, after you've pulled your laces taut)at the TOP of the tongue--you can't tuck it without causing your laces to ride up OVER the top of the tongue! The alternative is to leave the mechanism and excess lace hanging out, which adds an inch-long lump to the front of your leg (makes it hard to pull pant leg over), and a giant loop hanging out, which catches on bramble and can be stepped on; quite dangerous.
Well, I really liked the boot so I just cut the quick-lacing system right off. I removed the bulky lock, melted and taped the two ends like regular laces and now I just tie the boots up regularly. But it's a shame such obvious flaws were designed into a fantastic, comfortable boot by a company that (until now) I've been very, very satisfied with. Salomon does quality work. Except with this boot's lacing, sorry.
The fix was easy enough to do, though I shouldn't have had to. So if it would bother you to mutilate your gear to make it function as it should, this boot is NOT one you should buy.

Based on all the great reviews online, I tried these. Felt about 1/2 size too small. They felt tight across the inset too. Other than that, they were light and well made but looked huge on the foot, so I sent them back. If you don't care how they look, order 1/2 size larger and you'll have some good winter boots.
