The sizing on the box was incorect. Us 8.5 and Eur 40 2/3 which is a US 10. Seirra Trading return/exchange process was smooth although we were disappointed the correct boot was not in stock. Have placed many orders with aseira Trading ,they are alway great, this was not their fault but they made it right with courteous phone service.

My old pair of hiking boots had died with only 200 miles on them. Decided to purchase a pricier brand hoping it'd be more comfortable and durable and was doing research between Salomon, Vasque, and Lowa. I opted for Salomon based on the positive reviews, price, and shoe design and very happy I did.
There was no breaking in needed. Put on the boots and felt like I was walking on pillows compared to my other budget-friendly retired boots. It felt true to size and fit. I took them directly out of the shoebox with me to Vegas. I used it on trails at Red Rock Canyon and Death Valley and they were AWESOME. No hot spots or blisters. I would definitely go Salomon again...

My old boots were Keens that I had for 5 years and the waterproofing finally gave out. I loved those boots, still love Keen....but the Keens I tried this time around just didn't work as well for me as the Salomon Comet. I've had the Comets for over 6 months now and use them for extended day hikes in the Red River Gorge area (3-8 mile hikes). I get off the beaten trail in very steep, sometimes muddy and rocky terrain and walk through creeks. The waterproofing works great so far even when the boot is nearly completely submerged. The lacing system allows me to get my foot strapped in just right, especially around the ankle. Keens definitely have more padding, and these could use a little extra in the front especially. But overall the padding is adequate even on rocky terrain and my feet aren't killing me at the end of the day. I have a high arch and wide foot; these boots offer both arch support and plenty of room in the toe box. They fit true to size; I'm an 8.5 and I didn't have to go up a size for extra room. Grip is good in all terrain...dirt, mud, rock. The ankle support and lacing system in these is just phenomenal...the ability to really strap my foot in along with the roomy toe box won me over.

After wearing some heavy duty Vasques for the last few years, these boots feel lightweight and have a great tread. The toe box is roomy and I was glad to have finally found a pair in more neutral colors (the black and pink version was too much for me!). While the boots are lightweight, I have noticed that the soles are a lot more flexible and little less supportive, along with a less supportive ankle, for carrying heavy loads and going over rough terrain. With that being said, however, these are great day hiking boots, and I'll surely be taking them backpacking.

I already own a pair of these boots and was excited to find them on Sierra. I realized after receiving them in the mail that there was somethings about them I would like to improve upon. The mid height is sufficient for all seasons as I wore them through the snow season with no issues. The problem arises in the summer as the low height tends to gape around my ankle and collect rocks sticks and dirt etc. I need to wear summer gators with them. The next model up would solve the problem with the extra height and eyelet though my size was not available. The other concern I have is also related to the height in that I can't seem to secure my heal into this boot well enough on the descent. Lacing techniques have helped but 3 toenails later I am realizing that a minor concern becomes huge, even if it only becomes a problem after about 15 miles. Hikes and snow snowshoe adventures with gators don't seem to cause any concern with my feet up until about 12 miles. I will pursue the model with the higher ankle. Happy trails!

I absolutely love these! I need a wide toe box, these have them. I need sturdy ankle support for rough terrain, these provide. I need good grip for wet and/or rocky and mountainous ground, these fit the bill! Waterproof for wet weather and stream crossing. Great arch and all over support. I tend to have a hard time finding a good hiker. These are keepers!
