The material of both the outer and inner shorts is nice to the hand. But I normally take a S-M in workout bottoms, and I ordered a M and could barely get it on! The waist wasn't nearly as tight as the rear and hips (I am pear-shaped, but also have a bit of a mom belly). I will reorder two sizes up and see what happens.
