Salomon Ginko Mid Hiking Boots - Leather (For Men)

I purchased as an intermediate hiker and found it to be lighter weight and without the ankle support I was looking for. This is not a boot for colder wear. Seam that attaches collar rubs on ankle.

Truly light weigh boot designed for a cooler comfort during warm weather Hiking. Comfortable hiking and with adequate protection . Not for Mount Everest either. Not as durable as some bit light light light. It FITS!

Bought these as a work boot; incrediby comfy. Have owned Salomons in the past and have always found them to be quality shoes. My opinion has only gotten better with this purchase. Very mild tread pattern which is great indoors and I am sure would work well in dry conditions... not sure about the footing in mud or rain. My achiles comment is regarding their use as a driving/ riding shoe; a small relief to this are would allow for a little more toe point without the pressure at the top rear of the back collar. Other than that I will probably pick up a second pair before they are gone to keep clean a a casual shoe. LOVE THEM- Thanks

I can't say much about these boots other than that they are light, the leather is soft and they look fine. And there's a point at the back of the shoe that sticks up into my upper ankle/lower calf. It hurts. I am completely bewildered by this design. Where you'd expect the shoe's collar to be even or go slightly down, it actually juts up. You can see it in the reverse view photo here on STP. It's bizarre. Anyway, they're going back. This might not bother others; it just happens to trouble me. Too bad, because they otherwise look great and are well-reviewed on other sites.
