I really liked using this boot hiking to the lodge before and after skiing this winter. They were warm and had great traction BUT they are huge! I have a very large foot, size 12, (I am six feet tall)and these boots make my feet look like they were a size 14. I am actually quite embarrased to wear them. I should have returned them but my husband insisted they looked good. I won't ask his opinion again. If you have small feet they will be great for you.

I got these (in the rust color) for my daughter. She wears them every day and absolutely loves them. She says they are warm and comfy. She has super skinny legs and doesn't have trouble with the leg circumference when she's wearing the boots, but she does have trouble getting the boots off. Very stylish. Her friends at school ooooh and aaaah over them, and I've been with her when women have stopped us to compliment them.

These boots have kept me warm in -2 degrees with a nasty Nebraska wind. I don't even need to wear thick socks--just regular athletic socks. I had the misfortune of trudging through snow today in regular "fashion" boots and after that, I realized how truly wonderful these winter boots are. The boots have great traction in the snow. Also, I have worn them all season and I got the sand (light tan-colored) boots. I haven't been particularly careful with them, but they don't have any smudges or salt stains. I've never had any issues with their waterproofing (they certainly keep the snow out), but I've also never gone through any really deep puddles. They do have a rubber sole that comes up about an inch or so around all sides of the foot. They are comfortable to wear--I usually wear mine all day long at work and I am on my feet for most of the day.
The cons: They are hard to get on and off and they don't have any extra room for people with larger than average calves. They were a little stiff (they are very well insulated) when I first got them, but I either got used to it or they loosened up. They also weigh a fair amount (compared to sneakers or fashion boots), but they are really, really well insulated. I think this also relates to how big it makes your foot look--as one reviewer noted. They are cute boots, so it doesn't matter to me.
Bottom line: these boots are worth the slight inconvenience of getting them on and off if you will be out in the elements for any length of time.

My wife saw this boot at Whistler & fell in love with them; boots are a hard find for my wife as a shorter woman (5'2), due to the fashion of longer shafts currently in style. This boot was a great height for her. I later ordered from STP. Unfortunately they were only available in one size in black - too small. I also can NOT find them anywhere to include Salomon's web site (like they've never heard of them!). Of course this is a common issue with (I'm presuming) older models. STP was $100 less than a store in Canada, plus that was a 6 hour drive there (not going back for them). But we would absolutely get them if they were available in another size in black on STP. The other colors just don't offer as much diversity and style for her desires.
