    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I sent the coat back because it is more lightweight than I realized and the fit does not allow for many layers underneath. I'm a small person, usually take a S, but ordered a M to allow for extra layering room and it was still too small for that. I thought about keeping the coat for everyday wear and warm weather skiing but there are no side pockets to put your hands in. Plenty of other pockets inside, which is nice.

    This has been my ski jacket for a year now and I love it! It fits well - not too bulky but when I need to layer up on a cold day it still fits right. It's the perfect amount of weight; skiing in VT means one day it might be 40 degrees, the next is 0 with windchill and this jacket, with its vents and fit accomdates both - yes on a very cold day you will need to layer well underneath, otherwise you can feel the wind through it slightly, but for me that's a good thing because then on a warmer day it still works sans the layers. Oh, and love the style, the pockets, etc - I get lots of compliments!

    I'm a bike commuter and needed to replace my old bulky jacket and this one is great. Warm bu not bulky, lots of pockets including internal for phone and other stash and pit zips for ventilation. The first day I wore it I got caught in the rain and stayed completely dry.
