“Previously owned a pair of Salomon Synergy boots that packed out after 10(!) seasons. Did much on-line research and thought the Pledge boots were the best choice. Was not disappointed. Boots broke in easily and quickly. Very stiff to start. Will not put in included ankle shims until they loosen up. Performance of these boots will really ratchet up your game, especially with freeriding/carving. Unbelievably responsive for the advanced rider. But you'd better pay attention as these boots will let you carve like a surgeon and slight weight shifts may cause undesired diggers until you get used to them. Very comfortable and warm; rode all day without issue. Color wasn't important but my kid said I looked like a Storm Trooper from Star Wars...
The only drawback with these boots is the lacing system. It holds tight and does not require adjustment, but getting everything tied down is more of a hassle than my old Synergy boots. And the 'paper clip' tightener used to stow the exterior lace is interesting. Not sure yet if it will be a plus/minus.
Bottom line: For the price, an advanced rider won't find a better value.”
