Salomon Puntera 2 Gore-Tex® Trail Shoes - Waterproof (For Men)

The shoe looked good but never put it to the test. Returned due to half size small and minimal arch support. Anyone who says the arch support is adequate doesn't require much. To confirm sizing place a known insert in the shoe. I also sensed the robust tread may be felt through the rather thin foot bed.

shoes were comfortable, the couple minutes I wore them before I wrapped them up to send back. I was really disappointed they didn't have the next size up. (the price you pay for having a size 14 foot)

This is now my 3rd (and 4th) pair of Salomon's. First two pairs had the Salomon drawstring laces which were convenient, but both pairs the laces broke, reordered laces, and they broke too (on 2nd pair, the lace bindings broke). This pair has more traditional laces, which appear to be more sturdy. Love the fit and feel of all my Salomons, which is why i continued to buy Salomons even after the limited durability of the first 2 pairs i got. I liked this last pair so much that after wearing for a weekend (only outdoor activity was disc golf) i ordered a 2nd pair. The Gore-Tex waterproofing keeps your feet dry in even the wettest conditions (i.e. stepped in 3" puddle without even a hint of wetness).

This is a great shoe for everyday use, particularly in cold weather. Fit is secure and has good support and traction. Will see how they work in snow and rain but anticipate no problems. Sierra went out of their way to make my experience memerable.

I bought theses shoes and left to backpack around Europe the next day. Flawless. I then wore them every day as a teacher. The next summer I backpacked Korea, Japan and stopped off in Hawaii. This past summer (3rd summer strong) I spent taking 11 and 12 year olds on backpacking trips in the mountains of Western North Carolina. It was on a section of the AT that the bottom started to come off. --One shoe goo application and I still wear em every day. Crazy? Sentimental? Yes. Plus, they are darn good shoes.
