Reviewed by Mrrebel25 from The south on Saturday, August 17, 2013Has no padding, cheap material & pockets are worthless. More than a cAmelbak, would have thought been comparable or better. Had to get because only red hydration pack, bought as a gift. Definitely would have gotten a cAmelbak, if had gotten for myself or had a red one.

Reviewed by Stephen from Alabama on Monday, July 29, 2013This is last year's model I believe. The only difference though is the logo as far as I know (this logo is better anyways). The pack fits as one with the body. I use it mountain biking and running. While riding the pack expands to hold some bike tools/snacks etc and fits snug when running. Great deal on a great pack. Would buy at retail so this sale is impossible to beat.
Reviewed by bradsven from Stuttgart, Germany on Wednesday, July 17, 2013I run between 35-50 miles a week with my long runs ranging between 12-20 miles. This pack is outstanding in nearly every way. Up front, the only thing I have found a little annoying, and this is a very small complaint, is the water nozzle is turned out causing it to rub against the arm and making you turn the nozzle to drink from it. I simply place the nozzle under a strap keeping it from my arm and considering I really only drink every 25-40 minutes, it's a small factor.
The pack fits closely against the back, does not shake around at all, and I truly barely know it's there. The front pockets are key for me. I have yet to take it on a 20 mile day or a long day hike, but there are two large pockets up front. In one pocket I keep my iPhone. It cinches tight preventing it from falling/bouncing out. For each of the two front pockets you could keep multiple small bottles (probably two bottle each pocket) for your sugar hydration or multiple energy bars/whatever you use. On the side, there are two reachable pockets that can hold multiple other items, ie, more fuel, gloves, hat, allovit.
The carrying compartment is plenty big for a rain jacket, sandals, warmer jacket, whatever you need.
I never write reviews, honestly, but this pack is ridiculously great. I first came across this series of Salomon from a running camp/event last year with Gore Tex and Salomon in Sweden. The Salomon rep there had another version of this pack and he said new ones are coming out and they were going to be just outstanding. I think this is one of the packs he was talking about.
Answer The volume of the packs. The 10+3 has a volume of 793 cu.in, and the 14+3 is 1037 cu. in.
