3.0 out of 5 stars. DisappointedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Cali Girl from Michigan on Wednesday, October 14, 2015I've been buying Salomon Trail running shoes for years now, so I was looking forward to this great shoe and deal. The shoe did not fit the same as the other models I've purchased. The tongue on the top is long and the ankle support was too high.
I returned them and I hope to buy the Crossmax model that I am familiar with again soon. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Great shoeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mountain Girl from colorado on Thursday, October 1, 2015I have a wide foot and these shoes fit perfect. I have many different Solomon shoes and I have not had a bad experience with any of them. They are light and sturdy with a tuff tread. I walk and run in these shoes and I can get several hundred miles out of them before the support starts to break down. I am also a RN and on my feet all day at work and my feet feel great at the end of the day, if I have been wearing these shoes!

3.0 out of 5 stars. Look Huge!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Centreville, VA on Tuesday, July 14, 2015I usually wear a 9 in running shoes. These look huge and made my feel look way bigger than my normal running shoes. They didn't feel huge but must have a lot of extra material on the outside. I returned them for this reason. They did feel very comfortable in terms of padding inside.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Comfy But Short-LivedVerified Buyer Reviewed by TheseClogsArentMadeForWalking from Nevada on Thursday, July 9, 2015I've put about 150 miles on these....and these shoes are/were wonderfully comfortable, with next to zero break-in period. I bought them a half-size up from my usual 'runners' to facilitate some serious down hill pounding and I've not lost a single toe-nail (woo hoo!). One downer: After about ~50 miles, the inside of the ankles have both formed holes. The holes don't affect the comfort...simply cosmetic....and likely caused by a combo of 'thick' material there & me banging my feet against each other when my legs get 'tired,' but this is the first pair of Salomon's that have done this. Also -- while it may be a no-brainer...the insoles must be immediately replaced, as they are useless (but the same is true with most trail shoes).

4.0 out of 5 stars. Terrific shoe, but...Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Wa on Monday, June 29, 2015I normally wear a 7.5 but was told these run large so I ordered a half size smaller. Bad idea. They were too small. My parents swear by this brand and the women's have always been a half size smaller for my mom. I had my foot measured at a large outdoor rec equipment store and the 7 in this year's model of this shoe fit. Other than the fit on this particular shoe, the quality is top notch.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Not as comfortable as other salomon shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by It's me from Boston, MA on Tuesday, June 9, 2015I was disappointed with these. They ran small, and the arch hit in a strange spot. They were sent back.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great hiking shoeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Virginia on Tuesday, June 9, 2015After trying a couple other brands I needed a different hiking shoe that would fit properly and not give me blisters. This shoe seems to be the winner. They fit snugly and have a terrific cushiony piece inside. We hike over lots of different terrain and they worked well on all surfaces, including extremely rocky trails.
I ordered a half size smaller because I was told they run large, which I found to be true. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Comfy!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Winter warm from Idaho on Thursday, March 26, 2015I was ready for a new pair of trail shoes, for quite awhile. And it took me quite awhile to find a pair that fit. These fit great. Slightly on the larger size, but not too roomy. Easy to put on. Easy to tighten. Good traction (I used them as an "approach" shoe on a recent climbing trip).

4.0 out of 5 stars. Perfect for backpacking and rough hiking but sizing is way offReviewed by KT from Bay Area on Thursday, April 18, 2013This particular Salomon model has wrong sizing conversion...they run 1 full size larger than the US size label. I am normally size 7.5-8 in most shoes, but buy size 8.5 in running and hiking shoes (for my feet to expand). This 8.5M Salomon pair runs at least 1 full size larger (about 3/4 of an inch extra long beyond my toes). Label says it is US 8.5, but UK 7, Eur 40 2/3, Japanese 25.5, and I think Salomon has mislabeled the US sizing. My other running/hiking shoes are always UK 6, Japan 25 or smaller, or Euro 39-40.
Otherwise, the shoes are very comfortable and would be excellent for heavy-duty hiking/backpacking. There is deep cushioning, ankle support, protective toe-cap, easy lacing system. Salomon really make good shoes for rough terrain. Just make sure you order 1 size smaller than your actual US size. -
3.0 out of 5 stars. Did not like theseVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bugs from tacoma on Wednesday, February 27, 2013I ordered these because I have about 8 pairs of salomon running shoes and LOVE all of them. These had very little support in them compared to most salomon shoes and I sent them back as I really need the support. They still seem like good shoes but most people buy salomons because of their support.
