I wear these on weekends and on my commute to/from work in bad weather. I have a similar pair I wear in warm weather and find this GoreTex version great for winter weather, as they keep my feet warm and dry. Fit true to size and are really comfortable. Much, much more comfortable than Merrell's I used to wear.

Wear a 12, ordered a 12.5 and it was smaller than many of my 12's. Shoe difficult to size over the net.

Overall, a solid waterproof shoe for nasty weather everday, or day hikes and some light trail running. I would say for serious trail running though, they might be a bit too heavy, and at the point between the two different types of material near the front the shoe creases a bit of a pressure point as then rest of the shoe does not bend as naturally, which might cause some discomfort.

I purchased these a couple weeks ago, they arrived super quick, and man did they ever look good out of the box. First couple days of walking around indoors went fine, very comfortable, extremely stable for the ankle and the lacing system works pretty well, however after just 1 somewhat lengthy trip outdoors I started to see a couple downsides. ( With my pair at least. ) First issue I've encountered is the fact that they make a very odd suction cup-like noise with every step, it seems to be due to the liner inside the shoe snapping back when walking and it is very audible out and about town, I had read 2 other reviews around the web with this as major complaint, so I am lead to believe that it's just a defect in my pair and not very widespread. My other complaint about the shoes is that they do not breathe that well through the Gore-tex, my toes are almost always soaked after walking in these which is a real shame, however I don't think it's indicative of the entire brand and I'll likely try another model from Salomon in the future as they are really great shoes in terms of grip and stability, miles ahead of my old Merrells ( Chameleon line, ) it feels nearly impossible to roll my ankle when they are on. If you're looking for a lightweight shoe for hikes/trailrunning I wholly endorse Salomon, I just hope you don't end up with a dud pair like I did.

Am on my fourth pair which I put on right out of the box and went for a hike on 14-degree day. Immediately they are as reliable as the previous pairs, warm and sure footed on frozen dirt trails. The same shoes are my best buddies when traveling by air ... the quick lacing system is a breeze for going thru security, ensures my having dry feet if it's raining where I am going and looks great with a pair of casual slacks and a dress shirt if I am meeting clients. I've tried many other GoreTex shoes, but this one seems to last the longest, fit the best and transition from backwoods to city streets without a bobble. I'll keep on buying them. Only reason I gave it a 4-star is the traction on slick wet surfaces requires me to pay attention, they are not particularly "sticky". This is a minor nit.

My husband wears these for everyday use. He loves them, especially for the winter cold and snow. He ordered a half size larger than normal b/c they run a tad small/narrow.

I wear these for walking the dogs and other outdoor activities. Completely disappointed by a big-name brand. If you are wearing them for several hours, they are just not that comfortable. And to me they feel a bit boxy/clumsy for this type of shoe.
