4.0 out of 5 stars. Great trail runnerReviewed by NH White Mtns from NH on Wednesday, February 7, 2018I’ve had these for about a year. Got them at EMS for a lot more $. I love them. Great quality, traction, and very light. The laces are convient especially for tightening when needed descending. I love Solomon’s- in general I find they have a wider toebox that’s great for trails. But I’m going to hold out for some waterproof with traditional laces and some side hooks for less heel slipping. Nevertheless, these are awesome shoes at a good price.

4.0 out of 5 stars. A nice looking shoe, but...Verified Buyer Reviewed by Wyo Sage from Wyoming on Wednesday, May 18, 2016This is a really nice looking shoe. It when I tried it on, the collar on the outer portion of the shoe came up too high and rubbed on the front part of my ankle bone. I could tell the rub would just never get any better. So back they went.......

5.0 out of 5 stars. Salomon XA Pro 3DVerified Buyer Reviewed by cxcski from nh on Wednesday, April 20, 2016Great fit I normallly wear a 9 and ordered this one size smaller and it fits perfect with thin socks. I could use the 8.5 but do not extra room where my feet are sliding. This shoe seems to hug your foot and is comfortable with plenty of cushion . Wore these on a 5 mile trek and no break in time they are perfect. I used to wear the Salaomon Wings , XT 3 Wings but tried the XA pro after reading reviews and am glad I did . I will be ordering another pair .

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great shoe, questionable updatesReviewed by Robin from Nevada on Tuesday, January 5, 2016I've been hiking and backpacking in this shoe for a couple of years. My first pair was the older version from 2013 and I absolutely fell in love with them. They fit great - hold your heel firm while giving you lots of space for your toes. They're also pretty rugged for a trail runner (the toe bumper is a great feature) and they have great traction. I recently bought the updated version offered here and while I like some of the updates, I don't care for others. What I like is that the shoe is more rugged than it used to be with less soft, exposed foam that can be damaged on trails. I also like that the sole is tougher and sustains more wear. What I don't like is the fact that they changed the tongue of the shoe to include a stretchy band that wraps around your foot. It makes the shoe a lot tighter than the old model and the tongue is not as padded as it used to be. Strangely, I've also noticed that this version causes me more heel slip than before.
For those people who complain that there's not place for the laces to go, Salomon included a pocket in the tongue to stow the laces. I hear this complaint all the time and it's just plain silly. The tags on the shoe have instructions for stowing the laces. Also, I bought the grey pair shown here and they are much more white than grey. -

5.0 out of 5 stars. Backpacked 40+ miles in Grand CanyonVerified Buyer Reviewed by Canyon Wandering from Arizona on Saturday, November 7, 2015After a pair of hiking shoes caused me blisters on top of blisters when hiking in the Canyon, I decided to try these for my next trip. I once before had Salomon trail runners and loved them. These were cushioned enough on the bottom that I never felt rocks on the trail, with good arch support and solid construction. The soles gripped on some sketchy slopes. Never a sore foot. They will be my regulars for runs around town also, until they get worn out.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great QualityVerified Buyer Reviewed by bikerdon from Apison, TN on Tuesday, October 27, 2015Had to return this item as they were not red as advertised, but bright orange. Also, the shoe lace system, while easy to tighten the shoe, has no logical place for the excess "lace" to go, which means it dangles around as you walk, or you have to tuck it under other straps, which looks silly. Great idea, but not well thought out. Other than those 2 items, the shoe looks like very high quality materials.
