This is my second pair of Salomon's, my first pair were just a bit stiffer;these are perfect. Keeps your foot stable on unlevel terrain and cushions the bottom of your feet from rocks. We live on a gravel road so when I walk they are great and when I go hiking i can count on them for stability and protection.

Love the shoes but will not buy another pair. The speed lace system failed on three different pairs of the trail running shoes. The last two broke within 9 months of use. I rotate several different types of shoes so I did not use them exclusively during the time frame of 9 months. They tend to run wide and is one of the reasons I like them so much. I will stick to lace up type of shoes from now on.

great shoe. I bought it 2 days before a race and it felt good without being broken in. Ran through mud, snow and muck and my feet stayed dry.

Am a guy with a narrow heel and so sometimes get women's shoes if available in what I want (I wear womens sz 11.5 or 12) this shoe was very comfortable right off the bat. Very light weight for a solid feeling, water resistent shoe and it also has a slightly stiff sole/shank for hiking rocks and other uneven surfaces. Many other reviews said shoe is either full or half size too big. I ordered a HALF SIZE smaller and it fits great. Shoe is narrow in heel and instep yet has an average or wider toebox, which is really the most healthy shape for a foot. Support feels really good. They sent me a different color (silver with grey instead of blue that I ordered) but I'm not too vain so I didn't care much. All my trail running shoes seem to change color anyway after getting wet, dirty and the effects of UV light. Anyway I've only had it for a short while but bet it will be great for spring and fall hiking in wet conditions.

This is my 5th pair of Salomon's. This is the athletic shoe for me. It does run narrow which is perfect for me. Great arch support; no need for orthotics for me. I like the lacing system; it offers easy off-on as well as tension control. I have knee issues which require a stable shoe like Salomon.

These shoes are just the best - I love them and want to buy 6 more pairs just in case they discontinue them. Love em.

I used these shoes for the first time running on a trail with snow, ice, mud, stones, etc. and they were great. I was getting stone bruises with other shoes and my feet were getting wet. These shoes eliminated those problems. I also ran about 5 miles the first time I wore them and they were very comfortable. They are a bit stiff, but that is expected since they are trail shoes designed to protect the foot on multi-terrain trails. I took the advice of other users and order a full size smaller than normal and they fit great. I would definitely buy these again. My sister purchased a pair for daily use, while I use mine for running.

These are the first water proof "athletic" shoes I've had. I am hoping they will do the trick when I walk in dewey conditions (which I do often), and keep my feet dry.
