I have worn them twice, on a 5 mile run and then on a 6 mile run and found them to be very comfortable with no need to break them in. The trails I wore them on were not overly rugged, so I can't wait to try them on a more rugged terrain! ( I am confident they will prove to be just as comfortable!) The color (green) is even nicer than on the web-site and the cost couldn't be better!

Reviewed by reynab10 from reno on Sunday, May 19, 2013i bought size 7.5 wonderful fit, the color is awesome i get a lot of complements. i use them for hiking, i feel like i have a bounce on my step when i walk..jeje...unlike other reviews they are very lippery on wet rocks, I dislike that part, my foot moves alot on rocky areas...I'm not sure if I'll continue to use them for hiking

I decided to try these based on the reviews as well as the fact that I recently tried Salomon shoes for walking. I just got back from doing a week of day hikes. These shoes are the best that I have tried. No break in period and comfortable from the start - I recommended these shoes to the person that I was hiking with.

These shoes are very comfortable with great support while still providing plenty of room in the toebox. They are lightweight and breathable. I love the green color. What appears to be light yellow/green in the photo is actually neon. These do not run large as was stated in another review. I had to send a pair back as they were tight over the ball of my foot (note the black strip with dots in the photo). It was not a major problem to begin with, but became progressively worse. My normal size fits well and the support in the strip feels great. I appreciate Salomon quality and highly recommend these shoes. By the way, when I called Sierra Trading Post about the fit problem (after 2 weeks of wear) they reminded me of their 100% satisfaction guaranteed policy. The shoes were replaced quickly and easily. I was impressed!

Good traction and adequate space in toe box, but heels are wide and might cause blisters. I hear that this year's model is narrower in heel so may need to return them.

Reviewed by LiquidFeet from New England on Wednesday, April 24, 2013Great shoes! I bought these instead of this year's model because Salomon in their wisdom has narrowed the sole at the heel. For the trail running I do, I need the wide sole for support. I also tried on 6 competitor's current models and came back to the Salomons because of the arch support. It's very high, and my foot needs that. I wish the soles were stiffer (again, because of the rugged terrain I run on). But I haven't been able to find any trail running shoes out there in several years that haven't been influenced by the barefoot fanatics. Summary: feet stay cool in summer heat because of the wicking upper body, wide support where the rubber meets the rocks for running on rugged terrain, exceptional arch support in the footbed, and quick-to-use lacing apparatus (I never want to tie laces again). Sole flex is stiff compared to other brands, but could be stiffer for my needs.
