San York Alpaca Cardigan Sweater - V-Neck, Two-Tone (For Women)

I love this sweater because the wool is nice but not too heavy to wear indoors. The colors are beautiful and the fit is good. The slightly open weave does increase the risk for snags. Overall it is one of my nicest sweaters.

The picture in the catalog shows a better or more fitted drape than reality. It's actually a little more loosely fitted and the loose gauge knitting causes some uneven draping making it better for more casual wear than I had hoped. Nonetheless, it's well-made and still holds some elegance in it's styling.

I'm 5'3'' and ordered the small. The sleeves were just right so if you're tall, a small wouldn't be long enough for you. I had to carefully steam out the wrinkles once it arrived to see how it hung. The body is boxy so it really is more of a jacket than a sweater. The seam where the sleeve attaches is drop-shoulder style. the Alpaca is sooo soft; I didn't find it "scratchy" as some reviews mention. But then, I wear this over a blouse or knit top. Even though it's so lightweight, I keep it in a drawer rather than on a hanger to keep its shape.

GIFT. THe quality is very nice. I was very pleased with this purchase.

The sweater I received was a a size small and it measured 42 inches across the bustline. That does not conform to the published sizing chart. The fabric was so loosely knit it would get picks in it in no time.
