The real leather is very weather resistant, and the boot has become more comfortable as they have conformed to my feet. Right out of the box, I was able to wear them to work, up and down on my feet all day, without discomfort. I like that they are a shorter height, as I am 5'1", so they look appropriately sized for my stature. The calf circumference is slightly tight on me (I just made extra holes on the trim buckle straps) because I have athletic (muscular) legs, but this would be an asset for those with more slender legs who are tired of swimming around in boot tops. I'm not sure I would have ever bought these boots at full price though, but the clearance price totally made it worth giving them a try, and I am very pleased.

They look very nice, but the calf fit was a bit too large for me and the boots just did not walk very well for my stride. All in all, they were nice boots--just not the ones for me. Thus, I returned them.

Good boot Quality QuestionableReviewed by Kate Webster from Illinois on Monday, March 28, 2016I ordered these boots on sale because I saw on the reviews that they have a narrow calf and I liked that they were all weather. I ordered a half size bigger and that works well for me. I have bunions and can have a hard time finding shoes that fit. I think the leather feels great and they are a classic style. They do have a heel, but are not uncomfortable to walk in. They have a lining which is nice, but not think like a snow boot which I didn't want. Like others however I noticed the unfinished top and on my first time wearing them the end of the buckle on the heel (where you would put the strap after hooking) snapped off. I am not sure when it happened as I never even touched that strap. I am still planning on keeping, but quality was disappointing.

You can look down and see all the layers; leather, foam, and fabric. If the top edge had been more finished, I probably would have kept them. I sent them back.

The downsides are the top edge seems unfinished and because the boots are a few inches shorter than knee length, the buckles will snag your tights if you cross your legs. Would have been a perfect boot other than these two issues.
