For the discounted price, these are a good boot, though if I had purchased them at full retail price, I would return them.

The goods:
a) They are attractive, comfortable, and warm. They included a set of grey laces.
b) Up to mid-ankle, the waterproofing will perform well.
c) I'm a reliable size 8 1/2, and sizing up to 9 is not too loose for me, though I will need thick socks.

The bads, though, are pretty significant function problems I did not expect for a boot with an original price this expensive.
a) The side zipper is poor quality compared to the rest of the boot. It's nylon with small teeth, and it feels weak. It will likely be the first thing to fail on the boot, maybe even this season. I hoped to get many years out of these. We'll see.
b) The interior gusset to help with waterproofing only goes to just above the ankle, rather than the whole height of the boot, so I expect some wetness to come through mid-shaft, which is disappointing. This is supposed to be my winter chore boot primarily, and my snowbanks are wayyyyy higher than mid ankle.
c) Last complaint is more an annoyance: The top part of the tongue is stitched pretty loosely and flops around. I'll be reinforcing the stitching.

Overall, they are a keeper, but only because of the awesome discounted price STP offered. They may wind up being my cute around town winter boot more than my snow chore boot as I hoped for.
