i don't know what saucony designers w ere thinking when they redesigned a very good shoe for underpronators [saucony progrid echelon running shoe]. it appears they used a curved design which tends to force the forefoot laterally, even when standing. there is no strap pieces running from sole to lacing that would keep the little toe from bulging out. then they added a streching breathable material in the upper forefoot.
i was quite excited when i discovered the echelon because of its comfort and does a pretty good job keeping the forefoot over the padded sole. i bought 4 pair over time so i could rotate shoes every day. i walk or run with my lab 5 to 7 miles every day, only shortened on heavy rainy days. since we have been together we've cover 10,000 + miles together. saucony has lost my business. i now n the hunt for a good running shoe for underpronators aka supinators.
