Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Italian Cook from Boston, MA on Wednesday, November 23, 2011I had a couple of other Scanpans before ordering this set. It is great cookware. One of the best aspects is that they recommend washing while still warm so you can take a hot pan and run it under water for exceptionally easy cleaning. The nonstick surfaces are great. Heat distribution is also very good. I also like the glass covers rather than something that I can't see through. The handles are not metal so don't get too hot but can still handle 500° so can be put in the oven to finish dishes.
- Pros: Easy to clean, Good Quality, Nice combination of sizes
Verified Buyer Reviewed by wzl from slc, ut on Wednesday, November 23, 2011I just got this so it hasn't had a lot of use, but the quality is great. I like that it's made in Denmark, always a good sign.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Michael L from Santa Clara, CA on Sunday, October 9, 2011I have never heard about Scanpan cookware until I saw it on sale at Sierra Trading Post. I have then done some "research" online to find out more about company that makes these and was both impressed and surprised to find out few important things about it:1. It is Made in Denmark! [@] this cookware is made from the beginning to end in Denmark, which is a Free World country. 2. Every pan is made using special mold - molten aluminum alloy is poured into "bottom" mold which is then inserted into giant press that uses several tons of pressure on the "top" mold to form the final product. 3. Bottom of these pans is plain, uncoated aluminum. This ensures better heat distribution and easier cleaning for any burnt food or spills. 4. The inner surface of the pans is treated with titanium-ceramic coating (they use plasma to accomplish that). This surface is extremely hard (virtually impossible to scratch under "normal" use) and creates "volcanic"-like surface.5. The non-stick formulation is PFOA-free, which is "healthier" than other non-stick applications. On top of that, due to the cratered surface (see point 4 above) the coating is in the valleys mostly and not the peaks, which ensures long life and makes it as "scratch proof" as could be.6. Every pans has a properly optimized thickness of the bottom, to ensure more even heat distribution that works extremely well with almost any cooking surface. All in all, this is a rare case when the company does not make any false claims and produces absolutely top-notch product. The retail prices for their cookware are very high, but when it's on sale at Sierra Trading Post (even if no further discounts are available) - it's probably worth it for most people. The only caution here is that Sierra Trading Post is not an "authorized" dealer for Scanpan, which means that lifetime warranty does not apply (as of October 2011 at least). However, even with that limitation I should have bought this 10 years ago - I would have then never needed to spend MORE money on replacing all the other nonstick pans that I went through in these 10 years.
- Cons: Price
- Pros: Easy Maintenance, Even heat distribution, Lightweight, Made in Denmark, OUtstanding quality, Truly flat
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Sierra Fan from Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday, August 24, 2011I own Calphalon pans and find Scanpan to perform better.
- Pros: Cooks gently without burn, Easy to clean up, Everything the ad says, Heats evenly

Question “induction compatable”
Answer These are not induction compatible due to the fact aluminum and stain steel are used in the manufacturing.
