Shoes are wearing well. I hike 21 miles a week and went through 4 other pairs in 8 months because of quality issues.

I have been very pleased with this product. Straight out of the box, these hikers were comfortable and supportive, wonderful for walking around the block, taking the dogs for hikes in the park and just casual daywhere. They are not meant to be waterproof, so I plan to use them more for long mountain hikes once the trails are predictably dry.

I take walks with my enormous Italian Mastiff who trots along at almost a run regardless of what surface we happen to be navigating across. In backwoods Wisconsin during February and March, that means a little bit of pavement, but mostly snowy, icy and sandy roads. So far, these shoes have fit the bill, keeping me upright and able to keep up with her, comfortable and without issue. They do run big, I'm a good size ten, but took the 9 1/2 in these without a problem. They're sturdy without bulk, built, and they make my big wide feet look cute and sleek - no mean feet.

I've only had these shoes for about a week, so it's difficult to rate their durability. But, given my relationship with them, I'm pretty happy (in fact, they're on my feet right now). I followed the catalog instructions and ordered a half size up, which I regretted and had to return them for a proper size shoe. The first pair were huge up front. I had a pair of queen mary's announcing my entrance. The sizing I believe online is true to fit and with the proper shoes I'm quite happy.

I bought these shoes to travel in a rocky country. They are perfect--and I won't be a dead giveaway as an American because they are NOT white! They sort of match my Haiku handbag and I couldn't be happier. Plus, yes, they did squeak when I first put them on but it went away very quickly.

The heel was very loose, and couldn't be laced down enough to help. Had to return.
