So far I've only got a few brief hikes in these, but so far they're quite nice. They do run small, I normally wear a 43 and the 43.5 fits well. They feel very comparable to my previous boots, La Sportiva Makalus, for a whole lot less money. Hoping to bag a 14er or two this winter in these boots.

I purchased these boots to replace a pair of 11+ year old La Sportiva Makalus. The Scarpas are wider (a plus for me) and require minimal break-in. I suspect that they do not have a steel shank although I have not confirmed this. Keep my feet relatively warm. I have not had the opportunity to use crampons but they should work fine. The good sole, solid leather upper, and comfortable fit make this boot a solid performer for me.

I'm a gal but got the men's boots because they were such a great deal. Nicely roomy though for thick socks and long days spent walking in boots. I use these boots for backcountry trail work and wildland firefighting. Also good for general Mt. climbing. They are stiff but break in well and warm so not best for the hot summer days but great for all the other seasons.

I bought these men's boots even though I am a woman and so far I have only used them once, so maybe my opinion will change with further use. I used these boots in an all-day long glacier survey and so far I am fairly happy with them. I wore them for 18 hours the day after I got them. I would recommend allowing a little time to break them in before wearing them ALL day, but all things considered they were good. I was on snow and ice all day and they stayed dry and the support from these boots was fantastic! They worked excellently with my crampons as well, which is very important to me. They do feel tighter than I would like in the toe box, but I do have a slightly wider than normal forefoot, so it may be a me-specific thing.
