I am making the move from telemarking to alpine touring. I found this boot to be similar in flex to the scarpa terminator. I tried the maestral and found that boot too stiff. This boot has a nice progressive flex-in fact I mostly ski it in walk mode.

Nice dynafit compatible AT boot. Three buckles keeps it simple. The velcro(power)strap is adequate, but its nice to see that Scarpa is putting a real powerstrap on some of their new line. Theres lots of ways to tweak the lean angle to your liking. With having a lean adjustment screw and shims the two position lock walk/ski mechanism is probably unnecessary and takes some care so you know which position your getting locked into. All in all, Exactly what I wanted - a great cross between the higher cuff height of Denali TT/Spirit 4/Diva and having the tech fitting versatility. It's the perfect weight to be light enough to tour comfortably and ski confidently.

Use the mondo sizing - the US size listed on the STP site for this product is WRONG. I purchased mondo 285 and wear a 10.5US street shoe (the site listed 11.5). The liners must be heat molded in an oven (I used a clothes dryer). It can be a little tricky to try and get a good fit but once the liners are molded you have a custom fit boot. The boots are super light and easy to get on. Walk - ski mode is easy to switch. Nice aggressive sole and dynafit compatible. The boots are a little soft for aggressive downhill (I like a soft flex) but should be great for backcountry touring. Got a great deal (thanks STP) on a trusted brand (have several Scarpa boots in the closet).

These boots are great, but head the other warning and order a full size up. I am about a 10.5 in US size. I ordered the 27.5, too small. Then I ordered the 28, still too small. The 28.5 fits right.

Before I was shopping for boot I went to the local ski store for professional sizing and then went to STP and ordered them. What I like the most is the quick, simple and right on the spot adjustability and then don't forget about two way adjustment for your needs if you prefer lean forward/back or with if you need adjust legs sideways ... Easy to switch for ski/walk mode, the most what I enjoy is the comfort of moldable intuition insole, only one think what I need to mention for future buyer is that I prefer softer boot and that's exactly what the Scarpa Spirit 3 is ...
