As Johnathan S. stated these ARE NOT Spirit 3s. The Spirit 3 comes with the Dynafit components that are required for Dynafit bindings. These probably aren't bad boots for recreational alpine touring/randonee skiing or someone trying to put together an inexpensive touring setup. Just be aware that they look similar to the Spirit 3 but they aren't. I've seen them on a popular auction site claiming they are Dynafit compatible. However, they are made by Scarpa, so they aren't that bad. I would recommend deciding what type of bindings you want first then choose the rest of your gear from there.

Picked these up for under [$] with free shipping during a sale. Paired them with used Havocs, used Freerides and used skins, and got into the backcountry for $500. Boot has been great, both for skiing and hiking, all-day comfort, etc. Liners have been durable and warm. I recommend these as 5 stars for the price I paid, great value!! At $300 I would give them 4 stars.

Warning, this is *not* the Scarpa Spirit 3! The Spirit 3 is one Scarpa's all-around alpine touring and ski mountaineering boots. Unfortunately, this is an economy/price-point version that lacks the Dynafit binding interface and the warm-yet-light thermomoldable liner. So it weighs more than the Spirit 3, and condemns you to using much heavier bindings too. The price savings would be attractive but given that stp carries Dynafit-compatible boots at a comparable discount, this boot is kind of a dead-end purchase.

For the record, Scarpa boots run big. I wear a street 10 or so and in both this boot and my Scarpa T2 telemark boot, I fit an 8/9 shell with a size 9 liner- so my advice, be clear when you order, go a size smaller! They make a boot shell fit 2 foot sizes and get the specific fit from the liner thickness. That said, these boots felt great from the get go. Comfy skiing, standing and walking about- what more can you want? One caveat: They are a royal pain to get out of! The liner folds along the heel, meaning the it gets partially pulled out at each extrication. This is a small price to pay for a good deal on a solid boot!

I bought these after trying several pairs. This is a low volume boot, with a narrow heel and slightly wider toe box. The walk/ski function makes a big difference in flex. In the ski mode the boot feels stiff enough to have plenty of control on steep and advanced terrain, but in walk it is comfortable for touring. The sizing is on the small size, I ended up buying the same size as my street shoe.

Got a pair of these boots for my partner. Smokin' deal on the boots (at 50% off.) I have used Spirit 3's for a few years and love them. These boots are basically the same thing except without intuition liners. Light weight, stiff when in Ski mode and super comfy is what I hear from her, she loves them. I would recommend these boots to anyone who is just discovering the joys of the back country.

Great boot for the price if you don't need dynafit compatibility. Very happy with the purchase

I'm excited about them. I haven't actuall used them yet. The fit is not great for me. The heel feels tight and the arches feels like somthing's poking me. The lacing system is a bit cumbersome and difficult. But I'll try them out anyway.

All around decent boot. Would like it a little bit stiffer for skiing. Forward lean angle on this boot is beter than the old Lasers. Note on sizing: I wear 11.5 street shoe, 10.5 Technica TNT Alpine boot, and a 9.5 (28.5) Scarpa. They run big!
