Closeouts. These extremely capable mountaineering boots from Scarpa are built to tackle tough summits, with a waterproof breathable Gore-Tex® membrane and crampon-compatible Vibram® outsole.
These are far and above the best mountaineering boots I've tried on in terms of fit. I do believe there are other boots out there that perform similarly (really just the Nepal Evos), but they don't fit my foot as well. I have a small bone structure but then a pretty wide forefoot- these have a nice narrow heel that keep my heel from slipping up and out of place. NEVER had a blister, even the first time out. They do great on long approaches and multi-pitch ice.
Super warm (I wear mine with Smartwool Heavy Hikers), very lightweight (especially compared to plastics), never an issue of waterproofness. The sole has great traction, and they accept crampons well. I never have to readjust.
While I do recommend anyone try on multiple boots before picking one, I HIGHLY recommend these boots!

I originally bought these to climb Mt. Rainier but decided to use a plactic boot instead. I am glad I did because these boots don't have a removable liner to sleep in and are harder to dry out. However, they work great for day use. I wore these in Antarctica and they worked perfectly. Kept my feet warm in 20-30 temps and dry in wet conditions. I climbed two short peaks in them, and without breaking them in prior to the trip I didn't get any sore spots. They offered good flexiblity and worked well with crampons. I liked the waterproof factor which protected my feet in the wet boat and on shore. Initially I thought they ran a little small, especially after putting a liner and thicker sock on. However, once I started moving around I didn't notice it anymore so I'd have to say they run true to size. They look great on your feet too.

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I put myself as a starter since I don't climb. But we do hike difficult trails, both summer/winter and I own 6 other hikers- these are the most durable. These boots fit extremely well. I have a very consistent women's 6 foot (37)- nl arch, etc. and they fit perfectly w/ big or skinny sox. Mind you they are stiff (like a ski boot almost), but this is the ankle protective feature I am looking for (as a physician). Thus, you won't need these for easy outdoor adventures. I am buying another pair-truly awesome looking and get lots of compliments. I "broke" these in, but you don't need to since they retain that desirable stiffness. Geez, hate to get them dirty :)

Excited to use these this winter. Fit great, comfortable, not to heavy for what they are built for. About as sturdy a boot you're going to get without going plastic with liners, etc.

I listened to the reviews and ordered them a size bigger. That was a mistake. They were too big. I sent them back. They may have been OK in my size, but they are pretty tall and bulky. I probably would have ended up sending them back even if they were the right size.

I ordered a half size larger as recommended and the fit is fine. Wore these boots out ice climbing today, with a short 20 minute approach- they were comfortable, no areas of rubbing or blisters. They kept my feet warm. They are a well built boot and I am very happy with them.

I'd been searching for a comfortable, lightweight, crampon-friendly boot for a long time, and the Scarpas are my new favorite piece of gear! As recommended, I ordered a half-size larger than my regular boot size, and it fits perfectly. I'm looking forward to using these incredibly comfortable boots on my upcoming summit climbs in WA and OR, as well as an extended 10-day backpacking/climbing trip in the Denali wilderness.
