I am a simple person who likes good simple quality. These boots have a main body made from one piece of leather. Boots of multiple panels fall apart on me with in a month or two. My first pair lasted two years of hiking the Grand Canyon, almost constantly, for self pleasure and proffesionally. The Goretex version is rediculous as good oiled leather is better than goretex. Currently planning an 800 mile 3 month backpacking trip across the state and want no other boots. Time proven and canyon tried, Doesn't get any better than these.

I have a great respect for well made Hiking/Trekking Boots especially those from Italy. I feel they are the best made . I am a collector with over 75 pairs of boots and eventhough Osteo Arthritis keeps me off the trails I now wear my boots as everyday footwear. Scarpas are so comfortable (I have 6 pairs) they make rugged, safe , and good looking footwear.
