Bottom Line:

“I bought these as an alternative to my down-turned shoes; as more of an all-day, long-route shoe. I got them 1.5 sizes smaller than my street shoe, and while they toe fairly well, there's more lateral movement inside the shoe than I'd like. The toebox is noticeably wider than that of other comparable (velcro closure) Scarpa shoes I've worn (length-wise, about the same sizing as the Force, about a 1/2 size larger than the Vapor V). I have narrow feet, and Scarpa tends to be a good fit for me; although it's hard to get a lot more adjustment around the toes due to the velcro closure. It makes them comfortable, and while not super-sensitive, I wouldn't say that they feel entirely clunky. The heelcup is decent, much better than the Force (which was the only drawback to that shoe). The 'fore is stiff, almost clog-like (note earlier, the line on sensitivity: which isn't good or bad, just depends on what you're looking for). These would make a great beginner shoe. Honestly, I wouldn't pay the full-price MSRP for the Veloces, but if you get a good deal on them, I'd highly recommend them.”
