I have large, narrow, flat feet that "spread out" when full weight is applied... in other words, my feet can be very dimensionally inconsistent. It can be hard to find a boot that accommodates all walking, hiking and general knocking around circumstances I encounter, and the Scarpas are nicely "neutral" in that regard. I've worn these boots every day (about two weeks now) since receiving them and they've been comfortable right out of the box... getting better with each passing day. When the only thing I notice after a day of work or play is snug support and not foot, leg and back pain, then I know I've found a boot to add to my "short list" of best boots... and the price point puts them at the top of that list.

I need a 44.5 (normally s10.5) so bought the s11. The length is good, the volume is large - cured by a thicker insole. They remind me of my first boots (also Scarpa). They are perfect for lightwt backpacks and day hikes- and work. The GTex makes them somewhat warm. Stiff enough, they only flex slightly. Nicely reinforced and very roomy toebox. The outer sole is a bit smooth for wet weather (tiny hacksaw grooves will fix/and void warranty). And a hair more ankle support .

Bought a size 14. Tried it on and quickly realized the stitching was poor and did not live up to what I expected from Scarpa. The gore-tex metal tag fell off right out of the box. Very unimpressed. Returned it to Sierra Trading Post immediately and exchange it for a Vasque Zephyr Tech Backpacking boots.

Great product and excellent service. wish this company had a outlet in this area so I wouldn't have to chance good fit by ordering by mail sight unseen. Scarpa has a good reputation for fit and durability, the only reason I ventured a mail order without trying the boot on first. thank you again for great service. Michael Howe
